Verily, we celebrate the memory of thy Prophet Nathan. Through him we implore thee, O Lord, save our souls.

The name "Nathan" means "God has given". Prophet Nathan prophesied to King David that the Christ would come from his line, by saying "Your throne shall be established forever." Read 2 Samuel 7. Later, Saint Nathan was also the fearless prophet who confronted King David with his sin, saying, "Thou art the man!" He was an advisor to both King David and his son & successor, King Solomon.
