Troparion (Tone 5)
As a martyr thou didst emulate the deeds of the martyrs, to whom thou didst minister, and striving didst overcome the enemy. Thou art an abundant, copious source of grace for all who fervently come to thee, O godly-minded Alevtina.

There is very little knowledge about St. Alevtina. "Alevtina" or "Aleutina" are the Russian forms of the name "Valentina". She suffered in Palestine for her faith in Christ in the year 308 at the time of Maximianus Valerius (308-313) from the regional ruler Phirmilianus. Ss. Ennapha and Paula were martyred with her. St. Ennapha was from the vicinity of Gaza, St. Alevtina from Caesarea Palestine and St. Paula from the neighborhood of Caesarea. Alevtina was brought into a pagan temple as a sacrificial victim. She threw a stone onto the sacrificial altar and turned her back on its blazing fire. For that she was beaten and beheaded. Similar sufferings were borne by Ennapha and Paula.
