Noah's Ark

Niko Chocheli, who now resides in Doylestown Pennsylvania, USA, is one of the foremost artists to emerge from the Republic of Georgia. The U.S. government, in fact, formally acknowledged Mr. Chocheli's artistic achievements and extraordinary talent. In 1997, Mr. Chocheli joined a prestigious list of great artists (such as Yo Yo Ma) who were granted lawful permanent residence because of their "extraordinary ability in the arts". His art is best described as classical, figurative, and representative combining the old master realism of such greats as Rembrandt and Rubens with the attention to line and color of the great eastern masters. His art also captures the colorful culture of the Republic of Georgia, and is known for its whimsical figures that appear in most of his paintings. His work has been shown throughout the world and is held in many prestigious collections. He is the illustrator of three books available here, personally autographed. Currently, Niko works as a freelance illustrator and offers master classes in art as well as private instruction in Doylestown and throughout the Philadelphia area. This painting was done by John Carpenter of Radnor, Pennsylvania, for his grandmother, at Christmas, 1999. John was 7 years old at the time. Everyone who sees this icon is so moved by the beauty and especially by the Theotokos' eyes. We are making it available as a laminated, mounted print 7.75" x 10.5".

O Lord, grant me to greet the coming day in peace, help me in all things to rely upon thy holy will. In every hour of the day, reveal thy will to me. Bless my dealings with all who surround me. Teach me to treat all that comes to me throughout the day with peace of soul, and with firm conviction that thy will governs all. In all my deeds and words, guide my thoughts and feelings.
