November 23rd
Troparion
(Tone 3)

You were shown forth as trumpeters of divine knowledge and revealers of the ordinances of the Faith, Clement thou fruitful vine of life and Peter firm rock of the faithful. Since you are seers of ineffable mysteries deliver us from every harm.

There is little known of St. Clement.  He was the third pope in succession after St. Peter.  According to legend, St. Clement was drowned with an anchor attached to him by Trajan, the ruler at the time.  It was said that St. Cyril found his relics nearly 770 years later.  Oral legend claimed that the anchor was marble, so he is known as an intercessor for marble workers.  He reposed in 98 A.D.

This icon is by the hand of Nicholas Papas. It is from St. Michael Antiochian Orthodox Church, Monessen, Pennsylvania.
