San
Damiano's Cross
This Icon is 10th century Italian. It is the cross from San Damiano's Church that had such an effect on St. Francis of Assisi. Christ has his eyes open and appears to be standing in front of the Cross, not so much nailed to it. This is to signify that He went willingly to the Cross and it was his love for us that held him there.
This is a photo, laminated on wood and cut to shape.
