Let us stand aright; let us stand with fear; let us attend, that we may offer the Holy Oblation in peace.

This icon of Christ is the Pantocrator which means ruler or judge over all. Notice the book is closed and He is seated. This is an icon of Christ at the Final Judgment. St. Mary and St. John are bowing in submission and worship. They again are icons of the two Covenants. Both Old and New Testaments always point us to Christ. Mary is wearing a crown because she is the Queen of the Church and of Glory.

This Icon is by the hand of a priest who wishes to be anonymous. It is from St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, Johnstown, Pennsylvania.
