This is the first of the miracles that Jesus did. It was performed at the wedding of Simeon, who then followed Christ as one of the Apostles. Mary interceded on behalf of the family and Jesus performed a miracle as unobtrusively as possible. He thus blessed the marriage without distracting people's attention from the Bride & Groom.
