We, at "Come and See" Icons, Books & Art, first saw Mr. Kochetov's magnificent work when an icon of St. Nina arrived at church for Niko & Kristen Chocheli. Its beauty and its power were apparent. When Niko was making his plans to visit his family in Georgia, I made contact with Mr. Kochetov through David Ninoshvili, who is married to a young lady at St. Philip's, to commission an icon of St. Procopius. Niko brought the copyright/royalty agreement and payment for the icon to Georgia. Mr. Ninoshvili translated and witnessed it. Niko returned with the icon and agreement and I photographed the icon and put prints into production immediately. - Joseph
Iuri Kochetov is a young Georgian man who is anticipating becoming a monk. He paints icons in prayer to God. We hope to be able to photograph and share more of his work in the not too distant future.
