Troparion (Tone 4)
Leaders of the Apostles and teachers of the
world, pray to the Master of all to grant peace to the world and
great mercy to our souls.
This Icon of the Apostle Peter is 12th or 13th century Byzantine. It was attached to the Sargis Mkhetsisdze icon of the Theotokos, 16th century Georgian. The original is just 1-3/4"x4-5/8" cloisonne' enamel on gold. It is from the Georgian State Museum of Fine Arts.
